Unique Aspects
The design goal for this front courtyard and entryway, was to create a calming and intimate entry garden and surround. We incorporated dwarf olive trees and iceberg roses suited for a Mediterranean climate. Easy-care perennial shrubs and succulents add color and texture to the front entry, while colored noiyo cobbles river rock in the planting beds, prevent weeds and retain soil moisture. After these plants are established, they require very little water and can be trimmed as necessary. We are currently designing a comprehensive landscape update for this facility that will cover the three-block area between Marsh and Beach Streets in historic downtown San Luis Obispo.
