For this front yard, we did a complete overhaul of the existing landscape and planted a variety of succulents and lavender plants, anchored by a Palo Verde tree to provide varied textures and a vivid color palate, while being drought resistant. When selecting plants it is important to consider the climate. Plants that are in tune with the environment's limitations will help minimize water and maintenance needs. Here, the plants are automatically watered with drip irrigation and complement San Luis Obispo’s Mediterranean-like climate.
